Tank Slappers Podcast: What next for Marquez after third surgery?

Six-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez underwent a third operation on his broken right arm on Thursday and looks unlikely to make the start of the 2021 season.

Marquez broke his right arm in a violent crash during the Spanish Grand Prix, and required a second operation on it after making an aborted comeback at the Andalusian GP just days after his first surgery.

Ultimately ruled out for the rest of the year, the injury did not heal as expected and Marquez went for a third operation on Thursday in Madrid.

He now likely faces a six-month recovery period, which would almost certainly rule him out for the start of the 2021 season, due to begin on 28 March in Qatar.

In the latest Tank Slappers Podcast, Autosport’s Lewis Duncan and Motorsport.com’s Oriol Puigdemont discuss Marquez’s latest surgery, what it might mean for him and Honda and how this could open the door for a shock Andrea Dovizioso return in 2021.
